Overview
A domestically sourced antique American stoneware jug, dating to the late 19th-early 20th century. This dome-top form, with its integrated pouring spout, breather vent, and wire bail handle with turned wooden grip, was a common vessel for carrying syrup, cider, vinegar, or spirits out to the field or the harvest table. This piece entered the collection as a domestic aftermarket acquisition, confirmed via Sherry Wilson’s own inventory coding on the base.

- Artistry & Ornamentation: Smooth tan/light-gray salt glaze; applied shoulder lugs holding a wire bail handle with turned wood grip
- Structural Base: Unglazed base bearing a faint handwritten collection inventory code (Sherry Wilson’s internal system, “US-” prefix)
