Description
Overview
This hand-carved wooden mask is a beautiful example of Baule craftsmanship from the Ivory Coast. Part of the traditional Goli masquerade, this specific design combines human and animal traits, featuring powerful ram-like horns and two birds perched at the crest. The face is elegantly elongated with traditional scarification marks and heavy-lidded eyes, characteristic of the refined Baule aesthetic.
