Description
This authentic “Neck Ring” or Torque is a classic piece of Hmong (Miao) tribal adornment, collected in the field during a 1999 Craft World Tours expedition to the Golden Triangle. Hand-forged from a silver-toned metal alloy, the torque features a traditional flexible open-back design that allows it to be adjusted for the wearer.
The piece is decorated with hand-etched geometric patterns—characteristic of Hmong metalwork—and finished with stylized “dragon” or “scroll” finials at the opening. This style of jewelry is traditionally worn during Lunar New Year festivals and significant life events as a symbol of status and protection.
Condition Note: Excellent vintage condition. The metal has developed a soft, authentic patina. The piece is sturdy yet retains enough flexibility to be worn comfortably. No significant scratches or dents. See Photos.
