Description

Overview

This graduated set of three small brass/copper pans features double-riveted fixed loop handles and rounded, dome-bottomed bodies, consistent with European (likely German or French) preserving or jam pans, possibly from the dollhouse or miniature-kitchen tradition associated with makers such as Gebruder Bing. The small graduated scale suggests these were made as a display or miniature-kitchen set rather than full-size functional cookware. This piece is understood to have been acquired by Tom and Sherry Wilson during their travels, as part of the Craft World Tours legacy.

Design & Craftsmanship

  • Function & Form: Three nesting pans with diameters of 5″, 6″, and 6.5″ and heights of 3.5″, 4″, and 4.5″ respectively; each fitted with two riveted fixed loop handles and a rounded, footless bottom.
  • Artistry & Ornamentation: Plain, unadorned brass/copper surfaces with a warm brown patina; construction is entirely functional, relying on form and finish rather than applied decoration.
  • Structural Base: Riveted handle attachments show visible rivet heads on the exterior walls; no maker’s mark or hallmark observed.

Condition Report

  • Surface Condition: Aged brown patina throughout, consistent with age and handling; no significant dents or damage observed.
  • Structural Integrity: All three pans and their handles appear stable and sound. This item is sold “as-is” with all associated patina and wear inherent to its age and history as part of the Craft World Tours Collection.
