Overview
Signed Colibaba workshop plate from Rădăuți, Bucovina, Romania, same family studio as the museum-affiliated Florin Colibaba workshop. Incised cursive “Colibaba” signature on the base, without a further date or location inscription.

Design & Craftsmanship
Function & Form: Round display/wall plate with a twine hanging loop on the reverse.
Artistry & Ornamentation: Kuty-style sgraffito decoration in manganese engobe under a clear glaze: a stylized rooster/bird at center in yellow with dark outline detailing, surrounded by a green-and-yellow scalloped border band with dot accents on an ivory ground.
Structural Base: Unglazed terracotta reverse, cursive “Colibaba” signature incised into the wet clay before firing.

Condition Report
Surface Condition: Glaze intact on the front, no visible chips.
