Unglazed terracotta milk or water jug from the Hungarian/Transylvanian folk pottery tradition, decorated with a hand-trailed white slip band in a wave/geometric pattern at the shoulder.

Function & Form: Wheel-thrown pitcher with pinched pouring spout, ribbed body, applied strap handle. 8″H x 6″W, 4″ opening.
Artistry & Ornamentation: White slip-trailed wave/geometric band around the shoulder over an unglazed reddish-brown terracotta body.
Structural Base: Unglazed base showing the raw red terracotta clay body, visible throwing rings.
