Description

Provenance: Part of the Craft World Tours Collection. This authentic tagine was acquired in Morocco and bears the artisan signature “Tarfaya – Salé” on the base. Salé is one of Morocco’s oldest pottery hubs, famous for its refined white-glaze techniques and intricate geometric linework.

Design & Tradition: The classic conical shape is a centuries-old design engineered for slow-simmering. Steam rises into the lid, condenses, and returns to the base, ensuring tender results for traditional stews.

Features:

  • Origin: Hand-thrown and hand-painted in Salé, Morocco.

  • Dimensions: Approx. 8.5″ Diameter x 8″ Height.

  • Materials: Glazed terracotta (earthenware).

  • Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The unglazed base ring shows minimal wear, suggesting it was primarily used for display or light serving.

  • Usage: Lead-free and food-safe. Note: If used for stovetop cooking, a heat diffuser is required to prevent thermal shock to the clay

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The glaze remains bright and glossy.
