A second, independently sourced example of Korond (Corund) Transylvanian folk pottery, decorated in the tradition’s characteristic earth-tone palette. This piece is distinguished by an added stylized bird motif worked into the floral spray alongside the signature tulip/pomegranate design.

Design & Craftsmanship

• Function & Form: Tapered cylindrical mug with strap handle and footed base ring, 4.5″H x 4″W (incl. handle)
• Artistry & Ornamentation: Cream ground with double cobalt-blue banding; hand-painted brown/rust and olive-green floral medallion with a stylized bird accent
• Structural Base: Bears the handwritten inscription “Korono” alongside a separate printed code “RO-C-019” — Sherry Wilson’s own collection inventory system, with “RO” confirming Romanian origin
