Description
This large, hand-thrown terracotta bowl features a striking interior design consisting of a continuous dark-glaze spiral radiating from the center. The rim is decorated with a matching dark-glaze zig-zag pattern along the top edge.
The exterior remains largely unglazed, showcasing the natural warm, sandy-orange hue of the clay, complete with authentic firing marks and surface patination. Two sturdy lug handles are integrated into the sides. Notably, the base includes two small, pre-firing suspension holes, which is a traditional feature used for display or drying.
Good vintage condition. The piece shows characteristic wear consistent with age, including minor surface scuffs, kiln debris, and natural variations in the slip and glaze. No major cracks or structural repairs observed.
